Jesus Says Fish Belly is the Answer

A bunch of non idolatrous bible experts asked for proof that Jesus was approved by God. Interestingly, it was not pagans or atheists who posed this question to him. It was bible experts who did not believe in idolatry. Jesus said the Jonah miracle was what doubting religious experts need. They need to be swallowed into the belly of persecution and vomited out to the will of God. That was what happened to Jesus, though a holy man. That was what happened to bible expert Jonah. He wanted proof that God favored Assyria. Let's pray that the church be swallowed up in the belly of persecution for Christ (not in glamor and gimmickry) and be vomited out to God's genuine will. Churches in forbidden countries value the Jonah miracle.

You just gave me a new view of the Jonah story. I like it so much. I agree with you that the church does need something that will make it realise what we have. The churches that are perecuted are very serious about their precious time they get to spend with the Lord. They make use of every opportuniy they get to worship. They cling faster to god than the people who has never been threatened. I had a discusion this morning about the same thing. I spoke to a group of learners at a school and percecution was the topic. We need to appreciate the freedom to worship while we still have it. blessings
