cannot play videos on dialup

You're pretty well screwed on dial up. It just isn't fast enough to keep up with the graphics and all! AOl 9.0 talks big... but it can't really put out!Sorry!

i had AOL 9 on dial up and videos worked fine for me, i ran mine on XP which i think is far better than this vista.

check your memory (ram) and see if it is low, you should have at least 1gb of ram to be able to run more than one program efficiently.

anothe ridea is to download and install ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE, this is a free vista download, it scans and detects any junk in your system then deletes it, it is 100% safe.

There's no way you'll be able to play streaming videos online on a dial-up connection. The bandwidth just isn't big enough to handle the process. Buffering alone will take forever, what more the actual playing of the file. Somebody suggested adding ram and using xp, I don't think so. Regardless if you have a massive 4GB ram, your data transfer rate is still dependent on your type of internet connection, and a dial-up connection just doesn't have enough bandwidth to do that sorta thing. Optimizing your system (by adding RAM and running optimizer programs) only helps to speed up things at your end. It still doesn't solve the problem of getting data from the web to arrive at your system at a faster rate, because you would still be using the same traffic-congested one-way street (dialup) rather than a 6-lane freeway (broadband).

Hey you are using slow dial up connection so you have to bring broadband connection for video playing, & it should be high speed, 512 kbps minimum will give very good performance.
