How many of you put out yesterday?

Did I get your attention? I just wanted to know how many mylotters in the good ole U.S.of A. put out non-perishable foods by their mailboxes for their letter carriers to pick up. The National Association of Letter Carriers has a Stamp Out Hunger food drive every year. The letter carriers collect the food that has been put in bags and left by the mailboxes. The food is then distributed by the post office to the local food banks and pantries. I put out some cans of veggies and two boxes of cereal. I checked for the expiration dates to make sure that they were still good. It made me feel good to do this to help out the next person who cannot afford to buy food. Many more people are now having harder times than they have in several years. I have been on the receiving end of a food bank a handful of times. I can tell you that I appreciated it, too. I just wanted to pay it back yesterday by leaving something for the food drive. I have a few questions to wrap this up: How many left some food by their mailbox? Have you ever had to go to a food bank or pantry to get something for your family to have some meals for a week or so? Are you a volunteer at your local food bank?
