Holidays that make you sad...

I am so sorry for your loss and for what you are feeling on this day. Take the time to remember your mother and to honor her for the awesome woman she was.

For me, Christmas has always been difficult. I lost my father when I was four years old and we buried him on Christmas Eve. While I do not remember the funeral or really him it has always been a reminder of what I have lost and did not have because of his death. Likewise Fathers day was always difficult on me as well.

now that I have children I enjoy both Fathers day and Christmas much more. I know that my father would not want me to be sad and I get to experience these holidays in their eyes.

I hope that one day you too will become a mom. Good luck in all you do.

Let me begin by saying HAPPY MOTHERS DAY. I personally do respect all human eve, regardless of their believes. I am a staunch protestant- evangelical believer. The Bible says give due where due is needed, give respect/honor where respect/honor is needed. I only want ask God to give us wisdom to know how to handle any holiday when we are having situational effects. Somebody said there are some people who needs EGR (Extra Grace Required). So may the grace of God be sufficient to you and God give peace on the inside.

Having lost both my hubby & my Mom in the last two years, I don't care for most holidays anymore!!! Actually, my absolute WORST day of the year is August 22 as they shared that day for their birthdays. How do I get around being alone??? I go out!!! I visit with friends. I think of the good times that I had with both of them. I just refuse to be alone!!! Both of them are still held near & dear in my heart so they are NEVER far away!!! I miss them both terribly. I know neither of them would want me sitting here being miserable. I do my best to remember the good times!!!

I have found that some holidays in the past have been harder than others. But what helps me to get thru it is to be with my family. We are a very very close family. And after my grandpa died, his birthday is right before christmas, it was very hard and very strange for us all to not have him there for christmas. But it was good for us because we were able to share stories and to be there for my grandmother. My mom and I call each other quite often to be able to be there for each other.
Try just not being alone. Being alone is good grounds for getting down and not helping the sad part of your day getting better, and it will just get worse and worse. Try to do a fun potluck, or games, or just sit around and tell stories. Happy Mothers Day!

I feel so sad if I have holiday from my college, because i just had a few friends in my home. It is caused I didn't stay at home but i study in different country. Of course I just had a college friends. Sometimes I just spent my time in a church when a holiday, because i just can find a friend in there. Very sad to tell about that. If i don't have a plan in holiday, i just stay at home with my parents. Very sadly and boring, but it is a unique condition for a student like me.:D keep smile!!:D

Sorry to hear about your mom but you can always have an option of adopting a child. Just a suggestion though.

For me, Vallantine Day is the most saddest holiday for me. I don't like to go anywhere on that day, just sit home and do my work on my pc. I only was happy in 2007 V day because I have proposed on that day to my gf but at the end it wasn't too good as she declined my offer!

thanksgiving im not fond of because that means a lot of relatives im not comfy with so i stress.. xmas i hate because every one is always obsessed with money and gifts and it cheapens it all and of course then you think of the ones not with us anymore..

i guess those are all really.

For me it used to be Christmas. I used to always feel so all alone and hated this time of yr. This was until my husband came along, and now I have someone to share this wonderful day with.

Now for me, it would have to be Mother's Day as well. I lost my Mom just over a yr. and a half ago, and as I was never able to have any kids of my own, there is a definate void there this time of yr. now for sure. I really in a way will probably dispise this day in some ways as long as I live now.

During Christmas and New Year are the holiday that makes me sad. I don't know if I have a mental problem but it always like that. I am happy during the dining, greeting and exchanging gifts, but after that I become sad.Maybe because we prepare for this occasion three months in advance and in just a blink or an hour it happened. Or I think because I don't have special someone with me during that time, I think that's makes me sad.

Christmas is a mixed bad of emotions for me. It has always been a happy time in my family but since the year 2000, it has been sad because my Grandfather passed away on Christmas Day and my Grandmother passed away on New Year's day of the same year. We try our best to remain happy at this time because that is what they would have wanted!
