The games we play(ed)....  

My favorite growing up was risk. For a basically simple game we would spend hours in my friends basement playing. The last game we played was shortly before graduation, we played for about 14 hours and we had other places to go, we made a list of who had what and we put it in the box. I talked to my friend about it a few months ago and he was at his parents getting some things because they were moving and he found the list. It brought back some memories, the game will most likely never be finished since we lost touch with the other 2 players.

I have candy land and chutes and ladders for my children and they love to play on a rainy day when we can't go out. It's such a great form of entertainment.

When I was little we played outside a lot. There were those times when either the weather or darkness did not permit and we played games inside. Other times, we just played for sheer fun! I can rememeber long Monopolygames and we also played life, chess, checkers and dominoes! One year one of my sister got a game I haven't seen since, called "Trust Me". It was set up with these little briefcases. You rolled certain thngs and got chances to peek at a breifcase and find out what was in it. then you tried to sell it to other players. It might be a good deal, or a bad deal...hence, "Trust me". It was loads of bluffing fun!

As my kids were growing up I had the tradition that each Christmas they each got a new board game. It gave us some great times learning how to playsome differnt games. We played Risk, Guess Who?, Yatzee and other standard games. We even discovered the Mad MagazineGame. It was great because you had to literally do everything backwards!

I have some very fond memories with lots of friends and family members as we sat around numerous tables playing games and laughing until we cried! As we all got older it was our usual custom (and pretty much still is) to play games together. I had a sister-in-law and we played newer games like Balderdash and Taboo. We knew it was a good game when Connie cried! She was our meter!!

Wow you totally remind me my childhood now. I just love the game Monopoly, and I always played it with my little sisters, and our neighbers. Snake and ladders was also a great game we used to play, and I think my sister always won me. Chess is a game my dad taught me how to play, and I was very good in it, but since I didn't play it a lot I forgot how to play, and now I don't know. I wish I could go back to those times, or even start to play those games once again with my family.

some of my favorite games were monopoly, clue.. and Yahtzee. You are so right that we could spend hours as a family in the evenings playing games,and talking and having a good time. But the important thing is that we were together enjoying each others company.

I haven't played board games as much as I played patintero or isprikitik(local games here in my country). Both games requires running and being wise in every moves. Boardgames are really good way to kill time especially if its raining, monopoly is what I love playing. I love buying houses and hotels, I fell like a millionaire. Next to that is dama or chess, which I rarely win. I haven't played snake and ladders when I was little but I have played a board game called stairway to heaven similar to snake and ladders. I love throwing the dice and even wish for the certain number before I throw the dice. It was really fun playing the boardgames than playing computer games and clicking the mouse. The graphic might be impressive but laughing with your friends playing board games is much enjoyable and fun to do.

You must be 40 years old or more...I myself am 48 years...I didn't like Monopoly, but I liked chess...in my surroundings there is no child that plays chess...my own children showed no interest for that game...todays children are interested in internet and chat...it is frustrating that I can do nothing to pursue them to go out and spend more time enjoying sun & nature...can you?

My daughter is 3,5 We play A LOT of board games. Her favorite one is dominoes.
