The NBA stated that the referees goofed during the final seconds of the game. The mavericks had a foul to give and antoine wright intentionally fouled carmelo anthony, but there was no call. Then Anthony made a 3-point shot giving his team a 1-point lead and the win for a 3-0 lead in the series.

This is a very interesting discussion - and I think the NBA Officials should take heed as to what the fans are saying.
My two cents - they should have called. I know they hate making "last minute calls" that can change the game blah blah blah. However, the rule should be that a foul is a foul whether it's on the last second of the ball game or the first! A foul is a foul - call it!
Whether or not they want to "change the game" - they do and they will! NBA players should know that the referees will call the foul. Except, with this "not calling last minute fouls" - everyone is either just fouling at the last second to make sure the ball doesn't go in (and no calls) or commit offensive fouls in order to make sure that the offensive player makes it in or at least have a shot.
It's a foul, call it! Stop hiding behind that "it makes a difference in the game" - as it should! Players know the consequences - then deal with it!
