In the late afternoon of May 13 1989, Pope John Paul 2 was standing in an open-topped vehicle greeting the thousands of the faithful who had crowed into St Peter's Square in Rome for a general audience with the head of the catholic Church. Sudeenly the pontiff collapsed and sank into the arms of his companions. The Holy Father had been shot. The attemp to kill Pope Joh Paul 2 sent a shock waves around the world. But the trial of the attackers never really revealed where the order came from. It seems that those who were really responsible will probably never be brought to justice.

I strongly believe that It was some of the Islamic Militants who were responsible for the attempting assassination. It is unlikely that other christians are responsible for the attempt. these don't believe that the pope is send by God and feels irritated by the Christian beliefs regarding their power on the Church, so they do it the cowardly way. assassinate them.
