I had my daughter when I was 30. I found that each day brought new challenges and opportunities. I did daycare for a while because my daughter was an only child. I worked nights at some points when we home schooled so that I could school her during the day and work at night. That did not last long as I was too tired to do anything well. I have worked for my husband in various business as a Secretary. Many times our daughter was right with us. She learned about business at a very early age. I found that I had less time and freedom after my daughter started high school. It turned out that she had a learning disability and also challenges with air borne allergies at the school. That was fun. All through all of this, I always continued to read about various subjects and kept growing in interests. She took part in a lot of this. At one point I went back to college to add medical transcription to the list of jobs I have done. She helped me study for my classes. We have done many things together and I would not trade a day of all of it. Enjoy the precious little human being that is entrusted to you. Close your ears to those disapproving faces that look down at stay-at-home mothers. Realize that you are mapping out a whole new journey for you and your family. Enjoy a close relationship with your daughter that will only grow over the years. You are at what you have dreamed of- now live the dream and never look back.

The balance of raising your children and working from home usually is never balanced. It swings back and forth, but life is just like that!
