Ok hmmm How should I start this . My sister is 3 months pregnant now and she coughs a lot she asked me to make a topic regarding this condition. since its not advisable to take any medicine when your pregnant. Would coughing affect her baby when born? Hmmm I really am not into this but I would really appreciate you could share your views or your experience regarding this matter.thanks

i really doubt it would, however if you were coughing a lot,i'd see a doctor about it.my mom said all coughing really does when pregnant is make you pee sometimes if you're farther along and it's pushing on your bladder.
i definetly would not take any medicine without consulting a doctor first, though.

the first trimester of a pregnancy is the most crucial as many doctors and women say. is she feeling any back pains when she coughs? is the coughing consistently for several days now? does she have asthma or the cough is accompanied by colds or fever?
the mere cough is not in itself posing any danger to her health or that of her baby. but what causes the coughing and other symptoms with the cough can be treated differently. they say coughs and colds are pretty common during pregnancies. but to be on the safer side, have your sister visit the doctor and have her checked thoroughly. ask her to drink plenty of water or several sips often so as not to feel parched or dry after coughing. it can be just caused by extreme heat in the summer. hope she'll be fine soon. :)

Since coughing is a normal bodily function, I really can't see how this could harm the baby, in any way.
My niece is about to have her baby, next month she is due.
Last night, she sneezed and the baby suddenly started hiccuping.
I can undersand your sisters concern and it must be a real pain since it isn't advisable to take most medications when pregnant.
I would like to mention a nice home remedy that I use when I have a annoying cough and that is about four or five table spoons of lemon juice in a tea cup and as much honey as necessary to taste. I put in a very small dash of cayenne and add boiled water. It feels so good on the throat and tastes mice too. I am almost positive that this would not be at all harmful to your sister or the baby.
When we were kids and had a nagging cough, my mom would often give us a teaspoon of honey and lay us back down. It would melt down the throat, coating it, taking away the tickle, causing the cough.
Worked great!

She could be getting a cold...I got colds when I was pregnant and I don't think that coughing will harm the baby...It wouldn't hurt to get checked with a doctor there are some meds that are safe to take when your pregnant!

In my opinion coughing during pregnancy is bad. Because if the mother coughs then the inner portion of her stomach get vibrates. Though I am not a doctor, but it is my own imagination. Moreover the baby inside the stomach may also get infected through cough.

okay who are you? you have no idea about being pregnant. it is NOT bad to have a cough during pregnancy. you're stomach will vibrate but it will not harm the baby, considering doctors tell you to push on your stomach to get the baby to move, babies are fragile, but not THAT fragile.

Sometimes there's a must-have disease for early pregnancy. It's normal occur. But for better result, i think you should see the doctor. However, there's high risk for early pregnancy. On the first trimester is really important to controlling with the doctor. Especially if your sister has history of some diseases which can harm her own health. If the mother isn't health, it could affecting embryo. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.
