Definitely not gonna happen here. I know what you are saying here. You would think if someone is going to run a legit business they would at least look into something that they are investing in. I think your right about it being the same person too. Sounds like a desperate attempt to get its "customers" back.

I used to be on that site while back. Forget why I deleted my acccount.. probably didn't pay up. I won't go back.. seems as you say.. could be a scam. If I was going to buy a site.. I'd sure not buy one with a bad rep or name hanging on it! Yeah, you get those members, but like you said...members only know what they are told... truth or not. But in buying that "established" site to get the members, you also get the bad rep along with it.. so I'd just start from scratch and buy a new one.. and then work to get members.

Yeah, I would definitely do a "whois" search on the domain before considering going back. I've heard about this 5ivebux mess once before. But if you do the whois search (http://whois.sc) on the domain, it will tell you if the ownership of it has been transferred, or if it is the same people doing this. Although, it doesn't look like you are all that interested in finding out lol.

I'm with you. Once I have a bad experience with a site, I'm not going back. PTC sites aren't really like the typical business in that they don't cost a lot to set up. There's really no reason why honest people would need to buy a scam site when they could just as easily set up a new site without a tainted reputation. Really, it's a downright stupid thing to do...who would want to own a site probably listed in scam lists and that has likely been discussed in forums as being a scam? It's quite possible that it's another scam by the old owners or the new owners are just new scammers.
