While batting second and replying to the Royals meagre score of 145 Sachin committedd the monumental blunder of sending Bravo and the inexperienced Takawale to open the innings.Bravo who is not an opening batsman by any means got out in the 2nd over. to everyones surprise instead of sending Jayasuria he sent Rahane. These two youngsters could not accelerate and soon got out one after the other. It was then that Tendulkar came to bat with Sanath but could not find the means to score quickly as the 6 overs had already passed. Jayasuria who is a freescoring batsman got choked and got out. Duminy came and went and soon Sachin too lefte. Nayar tried his best but when the match was in their grasp he got out after hitting a sixer. With only 4 required in the last over it should have been a cakewalk but all the batsmen perished and Mumbai Indians lost by just 2 runs. My question is, why on earth did not Tendulkar and Jayasuria open when they have the experience of over 300 hundred matches each? Why did they send rookies to face the music. Ok after Bravo got out why wasn`t Jayasuria or even Duminy who has been consistent throughout not been sent? Tendulkar`s negative approach has cost his team a semifinal berth and disaapointed thousands of his supporters from Mumbai of which i am one. Any comments?

Yes Tendulkar should have come out to open the innings with jayasurya instead of sending takawale or bravo. After 3 wickets fell early there was so much pressure on tendulkar and jayasurya so they were not able to play their natural game.Jayasurya took 21 balls to score 16 runs and was not able to hit a single boundary or six.Tendulkar tried his best but in the end gave away his wicket trying to play a sweep shot. Once gain tendulkar was not able to stay till the end and win the match for Mumbai Indians. Nayar also played a good innings and nearly won the match for the team but he also got out at the wrong time. But I still feel that they should have won the game because scoring 4 runs in last over with 3 wickets in hand is not a difficult task. They just panicked under pressure. If they cannot score 4 runs in last over then they do not deserve to be in semi-final.

yeah.... i think you are right...by sending these inexperienced batsmen tendulkar made to know his opposition that he is rather protective and defensive and is afraid to put his best batsmen up front......he was rather afraid to put his trump cards on field...i think he was following the tactics delaying the charge...the plan wasn't executed well or rather it didn't start off well...mumbai was wobbling at 23 for 3 with required run rate climbing...the pressure of getting runs make jayasuriya, duminy and sachin perish................sachin is a good captain...i think he will redress his captaincy and mumbai will enter semi

I also think Tendulkar missed a magic trick. I think Jayasurya should have bowled and Duminy should have bowled the all four hours. I think Jayasurya is a very good bowler and he has a the nack of taking wickets. I think Jayasurya had been less used in most of the matches.

I think its not Sachin's fault. But, bowlers who have gave too much runs in overs 11-15. Sachin showed his experience by giving just 22 runs in last 5 overs. Abishek Nayar should not be confused in that match. It is very sad that Mumbai loose match at end. Any way, its out of time now. Thanks...

Yes it was very poor captaincy by the Sachin Tendulkar. The very first mistake was the batting line up by him. Due to wrong batting line up they had lost that match. He should have let jaysurya in the starting.

No i dont think so if Mumbai Indian would have won the match you would have applauded Sachin for his brilliance. I think the decision was quite right since jayasurya has shown no form in this edition of the IPL he needs to gain some confidence so sachin put him at no 5 so that both sachin and sanath can counter the Rajasthan Royals spinners. It was not a blunder on sachins part it just good play shown by rajashthan royals.
