know your bible! is either purgatory or a fiery hell taught anywhere in the bible?
the catholic doctrine on purgatory is based on tradition, not sacred scripture.
regarding hell, a dictionary of christian theology comments: in the new testament
we do not find hell fire to be a part of the primitive preaching. the church of england recently made headlines when it recommended repudiating the teaching of
hellfire altogether. the commission's report describes hell as total non-being.

Hi,
I believe the Judas will go to the lake of fire, well this is simply because he took his own life. according to the word of God taking your own life is a sin and its wrong. Therefore Judas will not make it into heaven. Well i believe there is no other way for him.

Judas will go to hell. The reason is that when Jesus came to Earth, HE came as a human was born as a human and as such although he was without sin, and although HE knew there was a devil in one of the disciples it was not until the Lord's Supper that HE knew for sure and even though Judas's evil act did lead to HIS glory, does not mean that the one who commits the evil act should be rewarded for his part in the potential of saving mankind. It is the same as saying if a man kills a whole family and the son who was away camping and was not murdered, decides to be the district attorney, that that murderer should be rewarded for that son's decision.
Therefore Judas should go to hell and part of the reason is that he took his own life. In other word he was guilty of self-murder. The Bible says in the Old Testament of the horrible fate of his descendants so had he decided to not take his life, God would have punished him anyway.
