Mentor Me...

Whom do you consider as your mentor/s? For me, my Mom was my first mentor. She taught me a lot of things about life like independence, trust and responsibility. She never raised her voice but I got the point. Then came one of my bosses. She taught me that positions do not matter but how you do your work. She was so humble and hardworking. The next ones were some of those untiring heads of various organizations I've had the opportunity to work with. They taught me a lot about community and volunteer work. They were very unassuming but their effect on the a lot of people's lives cannot be measured.

I would have to say that a lot of adults in my life have been mentors for me. I've learned from family, family friends, friends's families, and from bosses. I've also learned just by observing but I guess that's not really a mentor. I've learned from things I've seen on t.v., and other things I've read in newspapers. I think the best mentors are mothers though and they have the most wisdom in most cases!

Being open to suggestion and new experiences can be the hardest thing though in the long run it's the best. Communicating easily and efficiently is also great!

As long as we are open to new experiences, then we learn and our mentors make it happen easily.

I'm glad to have known one of your mentors, littleowl, whom I got to meet here also. Yes, there are a lot of things that we learn from people who are significant to us.

My mentor has been my mom. She has the greatest resiliance that I have ever seen in anyone. From her I have learnt to be strong in situations when nothing seems to be going our way. She taught me to be honest, wise and kind. I therefore try to pass the same teachings to my friends as well as others.

I guess most of us consider our Moms our mentors. I'm glad that you had a great Mom.
