The Granddog came to visit the ranch and he's a city dog, to stay here he has to be sheared, well with his parents permission, I started and two hours later I was about half done. Took a phone picture and sent it to his folks and will try to do the rest tomorrow. Do you bath and clip your own dog/dogs?

When my children were young, we always had pets, strays, and many kind of animals. Once, and only once, I clipped the hair on my daughters Shitzu. What a chore! I have always bathed the pets myself, have removed stitches from a spayed cat, clipped a tiny hole in a kittens cheek to enlarge it enough to get a grub out of it (shudder). I now have no pets, though, as they are not allowed in this apartment building.

Yes having animals means you do unusual things, right now we are getting ready to give our Llama a shot and I have to get another shot ready to give in case he goes into shock. He stepped on a rusty nail and that means he's subject to tetanus. We have to do these things because who can afford to get the Vet out each time. Thanks

Exactly. Vets and groomers charge a lot! You mentioned your granddog. My oldest daughter called one day and said I was a great gramma! Gasp! I have teenage grandsons and thought she was serious. One of them had bought a baby duck, which is thriving months later. So, I have a great grandduck lol. Karen
