Oh dear, yes you have to watch out if both your parents are diabetic. I don’t have any such problems right now and my dad as a worse sweet tooth than me. its good to be on healthy diets though.

One thing Riya I would really like to know is that do you really believe that we should control chocolates for our children? I don’t like chips or other fast food so I censor those, but regarding chocolates, I just cant say no for my son. Its not that he’s always having them but in our childhood, we had sweets all the time…nothing bad happened except maybe to our teeth but now everywhere I hear about limiting sweets and chocolates for children. What do you think? Are we being unnecessarily cautious these days and robbing them of their childhood? After all, its not that every adult loves chocolates (like me)…so shouldn’t they have their fill when they are children?

you are most welcome sudipta but i cant guarentee anything will be left by the time you come!!as for restricting choclates for children,most of the time they eat only choclates and then will not have rice and as children learn by example,i aalso am forced to limit my consumption!!

Don’t remind me of Ferrero Rocher…that swirling taste in the mouth when the tongue curls around the chocolate ball and then the nut at the centre…just heavenly, but very expensive for ordinary celebrations.
Cadbury’s range is good too, there’s something for everybody and they are a household name here in India.

Yes, one of the major benefits of chocolate I personally can relate to is, as an instant mood enhancer. It can perk me up no matter the time of the day or the situation I am in. its also a great energy provider specially on long hikes or treks.
Keeping it under control is somewhat of a problem but the companies have these mini-bars too, which I can just pop in… they are less harmful, I think.

Oh Deepak, my girth is not beyond control yet and to be fair to the chocolate, most of it is post-pregnancy fat but because of that, I have to keep a tight leash on myself on most food and its sooooooooooooo difficult for me you know.

Let me tell you another secret…I cant share good food if there is a limited amount to it (this is the only thing I cant give away without any thoughts)

And aren’t the bitter ones just wonderful (a tad expensive though, so that keeps a leash on it for me)

Oh! It is good Sudipta that your girth is well within your control and eating chocolates does not going to make much effect on your beautiful figure. Again, I'll have to repeat that it is not fair that you just keep a tight lease (like a child) on the food items and do not want to share it, you can offer some portion of it, may be 1/5th or 1/6th.

Oh Subha it is so nice to note that you are watching your weight. I think I have lost the will to fight for weight gain...as it is I am in my late 30s so in another 10yrs I will have to give up on most food that I enjoy now...maybe then I will take care of my weight...these last 10yrs I really want to enjoy my food.

Dont talk about teeth, most of mine are with fillings, remnants of my childhood days when I was too much into sweets and too lazy to brush properly
I know chocolates are not too good, but I just love having them and they are a great mood enhancers.

I wish I had a husband who got chocolates as gifts...no chance, I guess its not a very 'male' gift...though he had once gifted me a big pack of Chocopie but the speed with which it vanished made him panic real hard and since then he has not gifted my anything chocolatey! (mean of him)

But coming back to chocolates, yes Kitkat is a grreat favourite (more than Perk) though it is becoming too expensive nowadays.
