I had been saying myself that I won't bind myself to any religion and always live the right life.
The world is so much materialized today. And with this the actual truth is being far and far away from us.
But now I feel that in reality, if you want to know the actual truths of this universe, then it is certainly Buddhism, and by this I don't mean to dominate other religions. The things that are practiced in Buddhism can be practiced in other religions too, no matter.
And now about science and Buddhism. Lord Buddha is the one who had given the world the ultimate truth. But the truth he reached cannot be reached with easeness. Every thing he taught, his philosophy have scientific reasons. Whatever knowledge he gained in life, that was due to his deepest meditation.
The world is doing much research on quantum physics now. But the things that are in the quantum physics were already in the philosophy of Buddhism. Even Albert Einstein quoted many things about science and Buddhism. His theory of relativity, quantum physics and time travel concept, everything can be explained by the buddhism. Here are some quotes by Einstein on science and Buddhism... http://scibuddhism.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=2
I didn't believe in god. And still I don't believe. I believe only in natural phenomenons and Buddhism successfully explains the natural phenomenon.
And that's why every one spread love, love has the power. We have come very far from the truth of this world with materialism. Ancient people were more closer to the truth than us. Not only Buddhist, but also other religions.
And the most important point is, We won't die with this physical death. There is another new life after death. Our life is a suffering. Its our illusion that we feel that this is the only life, we have been living. But no, we have been living for years and years in this world for many life.
Good luck!!! I hope you would like to do some research regarding Buddhism and add up the good things in your life...
Love for every one...

Hi Nzal, it is true that Buddhism has no God. Even though the idea of God was hinted. Buddha found enlightenment after a period of fasting and mediation. He was tempted by the devil when he was mediating. The fact that devil existed hint the existence of good spirits or God. The fact that enlightment means the end of reincarnation and concept of Heaven also hint the presence of God in vague terms. Since Heaven is the home of the deities, and heaven exists, so God (or deities) does exist.
He taught his students, so that his students could gain enlightenment. He never really set up a religion, but he was worship as a deity.
Actually many forms of Buddhism are completely different from the original teaching of Buddha.
The use of incense, joss stick and paper money in Buddhism was due to the merging of Buddhism with Taoism practice.
The concept of Buddhism is powerful, shows that it is possible for man to attain enlightment without the help of God.

Hello scheng1...How was your day.
Well today I had a long discussion about this stuff. And had been doing some sort of research here and there came through number of evidence that the every teaching of Lord Buddha was exact...
Yes you are right, that coming at this age, i.e after 2600 years of birth of Lord Buddha, much of the philosophy has been changed. Every things changes with time. But the truth doesn't...
Fasting was not the reason that Lord Buddha attained enlightenment. After he grew very very thin, he had realized that making our body that bad and painful is not the way to enlightenment. And that's why he took the food again after 6 years as the history says.
Well the evils is the symbol of bad people. At that time, there were some of the people trying to end the journey to Buddha to knowledge. And that's why such evil people tried to threaten him. Then devil was the symbol of the distraction of the mind. To reach the state of enlightenment, one has to be able to remove all the desires, every single desires. And such desires tend to pull us away and away from the actual truth. Not only devil, some conspiracy like making a beautiful girl dance in front of the lord Buddha while meditation was done. But he was dedicated to what he had to do and didn't loose himself in such physical temptations that are all mortal and finally the devils lost with the Buddha's determination and instead respected lord Buddha and went on....
He had even said that don't respect him as the god in life. Only follow the path of his teachings. But people still respect and remember him because he is the one who must be credited for lightening the world.

For me, there is no the extra ordinary super powerful omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient god. God are the one who are enlightened. And you can be enlightened and I can be enlightened if we really follow the paths of lord Buddha with determinism. Now it has been very very difficult to accept that in the past with the development of materialism. We are so attached to the virtual world now.
Today I was reading this article about Buddhism http://www.thebigview.com/buddhism/emptiness.html Pretty tough to understand.
And check out this video of some scientific research http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDe5jP1Hb2U&feature=channel_page

Hi Nzal, thanks for doing all the research.
Even in Singapore, the Buddhism and Taosism have merged to such an extent that certain Taoist practices are used in worshipping of Buddha.
And the Chinese culture has incorporated both the Taoist deities and Buddha teaching into one single culture. Plus the fact that there are many sects among the Buddhism here, we have influence from Thailand, China, Taiwan and Tibet. There are differences in the way of worship, which to me, is very interesting.
