Frying Foods

Today while cooking dinner, I came to realize (again!) that I hate frying food. Why? Because it doesn't matter what I am frying, what the temperature if, or how careful I am, I always manage to get hot grease spitting at me. I even went so far as to buy a "spit shield" for my frying pan. I have to say that it did absolutely nothing, I still got burned. Any advice? I would love to know if anyone knows how I can "save my skin". I like fried foods, but I hate having to cook it.

There are some foods I fry that have water. I take a paper towel and dry them. After that I salt them (or whatever spice you use) and fry them. I dry potatoes, meat, fish, sweet pepper, mushrooms. You name it. I not only want to save my skin but hate to have the range greasy and smelly. And cleaning is something I do but don“t love to do it
I hope this helps some. Luck

Try getting a deep fryer. They often come with the shields that work well. They also have a basket for you to put the foods in. That way you just put the foods in the basket without being close to the oil. Put the basket in the fryer. When it is done, pull the basket out. Super easy and great food!
I have a shield that I use for my frying pans that is just a metal mesh screen. It works great.
The other thing you can do is to try using a deeper pan. Instead of using a frying pan, use a sauce pan. That way the oil that spits will still be contained in the pain and wont be burning you.
good luck!
