They always give Filipino a bad name, comments, statement.

Filipinos are not the only people to get a bad reputation. Indonesians too. In the movies I always hear people making comments about Indonesians. I am not Indonesian but I live here and it makes me mad but I know it's true for some Indonesians some of them are very dishonest.

Hmm, I guess these are stereotypes about Filipinos abroad and I guess stereotypes have their basis. Why would foreign people call us Filipinos that if it weren't true. Come to think of it, they wouldn't be calling us that if there weren't any basis. Why do they call us 'born to be maids' because most of the Filipinos out there in abroad are maids. C'mon let's face it, even though we are the most hospitable, caring and loving people in the world, their jobs are still maids and nothing would change that. We Filipinos are just good defending ourselves to their humiliating comments, but sometimes, we defend ourselves so much that we are masking the truth that some Filipinos out there are like that.

However, it's not right for them to generalize us. Not all of us are like that. The bad thing is that they are generalizing and they think that all of us are like that. We know that some Filipinos are successful in their fields outside the country. So, they shouldn't generalize, but I think the power of stereotypes are more powerful than the successful Filipinos out there.
