Hi Friends,
After going through the specification of 42" LCD TVs ( LG, Philips, Sony, Sharp & Hitachi) I had narrowed down my search to SONY-40S400 & PHILIPS-42PFL5403/98. I have not checked out Samsung. I am being offered the sony @ 60000.00 (MRP 71000.00) & the Philips @55000.00.(MRP 84000).
My connections will be limited to TATASKY STB- AV input & Philips DVP-5986K/98 - Through HDMI.
Under the circumstances Philips seems to be a better choice with 5 ms Resp Time, 2" bigger, better front/side connectivity.
I would like valuable comments & suggestions.

Hey sunstar i have a Panasonic Viera 42" LCD TV. Its a great tv with HD quality images. I would reccommend it as it only costs around 50000. It had HDMI so you can connect your PC to it if you want and has lots of really cool features. It also has IPS panel for distortion free images.
But if money is no object for you i reccomend you go for the Sony Bravia. It costs more but the picture quality is better than all other tv. But besides the picture quality there not much difference and it does cost a lot more. All the other companies give the same quality so its better you go for the cheaper one
