Jesus Says It's Your Heart God Watches

If your heart is rotten, everything thing you do is zero.
Some biblical religious leaders criticized Jesus for not strictly enforcing the ritual of hand washing before eating. Simply put, they believed it's what we do, not who we really are, that mattered to God.
In my younger years, I thought being active in church was everything. I was elected to top positions. I became an associate pastor, and later the main pastor of a big church. But one day God told me He didn't care one bit about what I did or accomplished in church. He was not interested about how well I sang there or how many ministries I handled.
He said He watched me particularly well in my unguarded moments outside the church. How I lived my life in the world with non-believers and how my heart behaved there were what He really noted.
It's not what enters us but what exits from our hearts that God watches. From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. Since then, I gave up religion. I just paid close attention to His Word in my heart.

Hi lowlycook!
This is one of the stories in the bible where Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and teachers of laws in observing traditional customs or practices such as washing of hands before eating.
Here Jesus emphasized that it is not what we eat that makes us unclean but rather what comes out of our mouth and inside our hearts.
It is really nice to know that Jesus is looking into our hearts and not valuing the things we practice and observe.
Have a nice day!

Indeed, it's how we are on the inside that God watches and cares about with us. Unfortunately, much like many of the religious leaders back then did, a lot of people forget that. It's not what we look like or how we dress or how our hair is styled or anything like that. Too many people want to pass judgments on things that ultimately do not matter when it comes to being right with God.

Yes I love and like Jesus though I am not a Christian. I think each and every religion is same and its goals are also same. Only the path to reach that goal is different. We want or expect lot of good things from our God, but do we ever ask God that how he is or never say - Lord be fine always so that we may be fine. Actually we are really very selfish. We always ask God to judge our foe, but Jesus himself told - Judge not that you will not be judged. So my Jesus, you are great. Love and save all of us.
