hahah this is funny because I have seen people biting their fingernails when they need to make it short and nail cutter is not available. It works though. What about you? did you experience biting your fingernails to cut it? I do when i was a child .. hahaha.. just curious to hear your experience if you have.

My nails are big enough and todays is wednesday. Hence I will cut them apart with no mercy. I am a cold blooded killer, who never uses his teeth to kill people. Teeth were the most effective weapon for old days females but I am not female and most importantly I am a cold blooded killer hence I will kill them with nail cutter and the good thing is that ther will not be a single drop of blood. ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Hello Bebs yes, I've been doing this before at my younger age. I stopped it when I found it on myself a mannerism. Whatever I would be doing that need focusing my hand automatically went to my mouth biting my nails. A sort of a comfort zone of mine. Another thing is that finger-biting habit can remove the enamel of your teeth that's why I refrain anymore from doing it..Nice topic...

oh really? I mean biting your nails to cut it? that's what other people do when clippers are not available. Nail biting as mannirism is another thing because you always do that maybe more in a day while biting the nails to cut it is just once hehehehe... anyway,, good that you were able to overcome that habit.

I would never bite my nails, who knows what's under those things? My older brother used to bite his and we put this stuff on them that made them taste terrible, he quit doing it for a while but I think its a mindless act.

Well, kids usually do that because they are kids but if adults are doing this? hahaha it is not a mature act for sure, unless it is an emergency.. hahaha

No, I never engaged in nail biting even as a child! I never had that mannerism but my grandchildren are fond of that and I'd always hit their hands whenever I see them. I mean why eat the fingernails! Ha!ha!ha! No not really eating but it has become some sort unavoidable gesture on their part. One of my twins loves to bite his finger nail so I assigned the other twin to watch him all the time so he could be stopped from this habit.

hhaha that is a very good idea my friend. Let the other one be in charge to stop the habit. I think, you are right, a kid who start to do this must be stopped.

Hey Bebs! You know, that is one thing I can honestly say that I never did! And that is really surprising! I never was a nail biter!lol And being that I am such a nervous person it is really strange that I never bit my nails! I always had long and strong and beautiful nails which I took very good care of and manicured myself and polished! But, sadly about two years ago they started to split and break and now won't grow long anymore and I don't know why! But, I keep trying to get them to grow and keep them manicured the best way I can hoping they will grow again and still keep them polished!

i have not done it on my self but i used to bite my kids fingernails(when they were less than 3 years of age)the nails are quite soft then and the nailcutter may sometimes injure them.

I used to do so in childhood. My mom was worried about it. I have outgrown this habit now. I no longer bite nails.

Hello Bebs. I don't bite my nails as I know it is not a good habit for me to do so. When there is no nail cutter available on the spot, I will just leave it till I find one elsewhere.

I hate to see anyone biting their fingernails. I have not done so myself. My daughter had the habit of biting her nails when she was a kid and I would give her a knock on her knuckles everytime she did that. She too has now started growing her nails.

Well, I have seen many who bite their nails when cutting it. Much more when clippers are not available. Maybe that is a habit that they formed when they are yet a kid. that's good that you had knock your daughter for doing that.

The only time I've bit my fingernails is when I've broken one and you know how you always have that jagged edge on it, I've tried to fix it that way. As a child, I don't remember ever biting my fingernails, its not a good habit to have.

I know it is not a good habit. But some parents tolerate their kids biting their fingernails. Well, some people also bite their finger nails to cut it when there is no available nail cutter.

hahaha!!! you do? how old are you now? hehehe I think that is really a habit formed when someone is younger and it was carried over until he gets older. I hope you would be able to overcome that habit. Good luck.

Nah I don't bite my finger nails off. I just let them grow and cut them with nailcutters. If there are no nail cutters, I go out and buy one. It's not nice biting nails and it could give you stomach diseases or finger wounds.

ewww no I dont, biting your nails is the equivelent to licking a toilet bown which Im pretty sure none of us will do!! I tell this fact to all nail biters and so far all of them have stopped biting their nails!! No I would rather just wait until a nail clipper is available!!!

hahaha youa re funny!!! I think the bowl is more nasty..or I mean dirty? well if the nails are newly brush or cleaned I think that is not that dirty. Specially if they are fresh from bathing.. But I agree with you, it is not a good practice to bite nails to cut it.. Just wait when you can buy clippers. Lol..
