Between Electricity, Water and Gas which one can you LIVE WITHOUT? |
|
So today after another week with the water tank on the rental property we live in running dry, I had to stop and ask myself, out of the three utilities, Electricity Water and Gas, which one I can truly do without.
My answer GAS! And electricity comes in second, I must absolutely have WATER at any cost. There is dishes to wash, clothes, toilet to flush, shower to take.
I can always collect wood and cook without any gas and I cna use candles or lamp if I don't have electricity.
What about you? What can you do without and what must you absolutely have?

1. harmonee (653) | 7 months ago | I can live without gas. I need water to shower and electricity to cook, but I could substitute the gas heat for an electric space heater. Not that I like to take cold showers, but I could do it and eventually get an electric water heater too.

Very good question its quite a tough choice.
Well i couldn't live without electricity i mean how would i come on here? Water is essential to survive plus i like keeping clean.
So i could live without gas as i eat quite alot of microwave meals and pot noodles although i don't like cold showers! lol
Thanks for the great discussion:)
Mikey:)

5. clorissa123 (3685) | 7 months ago | Definitely water is the must choice. Once my father shut off the water tap to prevent the water leaking on the main bathroom. I can't wash my hands; and I can't flush the toilet. Instead, I have prepare a bucket of water to do everything. It was too inconvenient for me then. So, water is a must. I can live without gas. Electricity is important too. I need electricity to run the computer and fan. Especially during summer time.

6. Beertjie (726) | 7 months ago | We don't use gas for cooking, except maybe when camping. But even then I prefer a fire, it is more relaxing. At home I would not want to go without water. I do not leave the house if I did not wash. As for the toilet, we have a swiming pool and some times when the water is of for repairs or whatever, I take a bucket, scoop water out the pool and fill the toilet water bowl... ready to flush.
So my answer would be electricity. I can do without because there is always some form of light around to use at night.
Hope the water does not stay a problem for too long.
Blessings

7. derlilaStern (1294) | 7 months ago | I agree I would definitely give up gas first! Although, that is somewhat cheating for me because we dont have gas anyway!
That is crazy that you dont have any water! Water is necessary to sustain life! How are you supposed to drink? I guess you could buy bottled water - but that gets crazy expensive! I also dont think I would like going weeks on end without showering. Gross!
It is amazing the things you can do without, but water is definitely not one of them! I hope you water issues get solved soon!

8. rrdj71 (654) | 7 months ago | I agree the gas is the least needed. Although if you really wanna "rough it out" you could keep the gas and get rid of the electric. You can warm up your bath water on the stove and just play board games and read books by candle light.:)

10. celticeagle (4743) | 7 months ago | I could do without gas. Gas is drying, doesn't warm a room all that great. I need water to survive. Electricity is my favorite form of power. I like the old and true. I think gas has raised their rates several times this year already and I am sick of that. I think electricity is expensive too but I like to use it better and it doesn't dry me out like gas does.
