Drinking too much water before bedtime, makes me unsleepy... email this discussion to a friend?

Have you ever experience unable to sleep when you drink more than four cups of water before bedtime? No matter how much I try to sleep in my bed in different sleeping position. I cannot get sleep. I never think of problems or any event that make me feel stressful. Maybe, because of too much intake of water that my stomach feel full. I even urinate and go to the bathroom many times. But, the feeling of fullness won't go away. Have you ever experience this feelings and what do yo do to makes yourelf sleepy?

Hi Neelianoscet, I try not to drink too much water before sleeping. I would just have my cup of hot coffee and that's all. Else I would be waking up often to go to the toilet! Even if I'm sleepy, the waking up and all that will keep me awake!

i really feel my stomach is full because of drinking too much water. As observe it really affect my sleep. Nowdays, i am reducing my intake of water before napping.Maybe a warm glass of milk will help me to sleep. In case of you, prefer drinking a cup of coffee may not work on me. It really bothers my mind and it makes me feel awake most of the time. No matter what, it really depend on the person whatever mode she or he prefers to do when it comes to the best method to use to have a good sleep. Whatever works, may not work for others, but it is your choice. So just go on and enjoy sleeping:)

Hmmmm we are opposite, since I am in the middles east I need to drink more water to ease the dryness of my throat. I feel easier to sleep when I drink water and afterwards it make me fall to sleep. But there are time that it is also hard to drink water because I have to get up in the night just to make pee and later on go back to bed. Anyway, I think we have different types of body so it depends on how we get used to the before we go to sleep. So think something good to make you sleep at night don't think too much on bedtime, watch movies. Thanks and have a nice day!

It really depend on one's perception of whatever method of selection of sleeping habits to do before going to bed. In your case, you prefer drinking more water. It is only alright as it will helps you moisturize your lips and your whole body system. Whatever work on you may not work for other. But, just stay the same it is good for you and it is one way of cleansing.

of course it is a matter of common sense if you drink a lot of water as expected you could not sleep as your stomach is bloating and full of water..lol.:D

yup, because your stomach is full of water thus the bloating feeling one get so to ensure to have a good sleep it is best not to drink a lot of water before going to bed.
