Grammar, Spelling, Syntax Errors...Your Opinion  

Typically when I see a bunch of spelling errors, I assume that it has been written by someone who knows English only as a second language. A spell check option would be nice for those who have trouble with English. I use Firefox, so I feel pretty lucky that it pretty much fixes my errors for me. It underlines them in red and then I know to fix them.

Keep in mind that we have myloters from across the world, as a result not everyone is going to speak perfect English as a result they are not going to type or communicate well in English either.

It is always easy to sit back and judge others for not being able to spell or type as you do, keep in mind that we are all individuals and all have different backgrounds, some may have learning disabilities, or just not think about checking their post before hitting respond.

You have to keep in mind that people are lazy. You should blame their parents. 12 years of English for some is enough to grasp the concept. However when a parent doesn't show their child that an education is important they are responsible for the poor usage of the English language.

Next keep in mind that some users are disabled and trying to supplement their income. This might add to the poor grammar.

But for a lot 1 cent is like $3 in their country and they will do whatever they can to try to get money from myLot.

I too understand those who are working towards mastering a second language. Actually, it is our responsibility to model the correct usage of our primary language! We should be more careful about how we post and our own grammar usage and such! It is a pet peeve of mine to see many mistakes seemingly left purposefully.

I, for one, have a good handle on spelling...one of my favorite subjects in school. I also love to type which is why I am doing this in the first place. However, I tend to type too fast, not because of the money, but because I type too fast...simple as that. And when I preview my response, I find I miss the mistakes anyway. It's like a real job...if you want to proof read your work, you may want someone else to do it, because you may no see it yourself, after looking at it 20 times. Regarding the grammar...I write like I talk. I sometimes feel, if you write a professional way, the reader is not going to feel your emotions, or expressions. I would much rather read a good book, with all the emotions displayed by the writer, even though it is not good grammar. So if you don't like the way I respond, feel free to let me know.

There are many second language users on MyLot, therefore there are bound to be errors all over the place. I have seen worse grammar by other English speakers though on other websites. MyLot is definitely one of the better forums out there. At least here there are not too many people that tYPe lIke dIs.
