Waxed dental floss or un - waxed dental floss?

Last week, I went to visit my dentist to clean my teeth. My dentist suggested me to use those un - waxed dental floss, because those waxed dental floss doesn't really help me to scrape out those food leftover on my teeth. Moreover, I need to watch out my cavities. So, do most of you use un - waxed dental floss also? Was it more effective to get the leftover food out of your teeth?
