NCAA football playoff instead of bowl games  email this discussion to a friend?

The bowl series has to go. a playoff system will really identify who is the best team in college football. An 8 team playoff, in my opinion, would be a lot better and more entertaining to watch. That way you wont get some random team in the championship or the rose bowl and those other big bowl games.

well i won,t say who i like but they won,t have a playoff because the big schools will lose money and i must say that a playoff is the best way to go but you have along way to go why pick 8 teams that would make sence

Seeing NCAA Championship teams get the crap beaten out of them by the opposition proves that the Bowl System does not work. It is unfair to teams that actually deserve a shot and makes it impossible for small teams or little known teams to make it to the championship even if they are really good. The Bowl system needs to go. Make it play-offs so that its actually fair. Yes, I know big corporations like Tostitos and Nokia will be fuming, but switching to a play-off system is fair and the right thing to do for the game Period.

I agree with them needing a playoff and I agree the big corporations would be fuming at the change. I think they can do the playoff and make the corporations happy still. What they can do is sell sponsorships to each of the games. The first round of games there would be 4 games if it is a 8 team playoff, you sell rights to each of those games for X amount. The next round would have 2 games and you can sell the rights to those games for more and then for the Championship game the can sell the sponorship for more money since it is the Championship game.

I also agree with getting rid of the bowl games and start an intelligent playoff system. This would really help teams that get barely kicked out of the championship game in the BCS system. They could fight for it in the playoffs. Another thing is I noticed that you are a Buckeye fan and I am a Michigan fan and we are both part of the Big ten. What do you think of having a conference championship game like other conferences do. I think it would add a lot of entertainment because I love to watch the sec championship and also the Big 12. But keep Michigan and Ohio State on the same side because we already have are traditional game at the end of the season and I wouldn't want to see a rematch game for the Big Ten Title.
