Ear are made to hear and often we use headphones cause of the craze for music, give it a pause and just think about it,would listening to music on headphone make you deaf sometime later on, or make your ears listen lesser to voice of others?

If anyone listen to music using a headphone for a long time everyday then it causes a great damage to the sensitive skin of our ear drum. Slowy that person loses his fine hearing ability. It tends to decrease. Avoid listening to music for a long time using a headphone. Keep the volume a little down as there no need to crank it up.

i have become hearing impaired 5 years ago for no reason at all. i just lost my hearing all of a sudden. none of my family are deaf, even my grandparents are not deaf. when i was in college i used to have a walkman with me all the time... i like to listen when the sound is loud. but i really dont know if it was the reason why i became hearing impaired. my doc who is an specialist cant explain it either. i just woke up and then i realized i cant hear anymore...

I have heard that normally speaking listening to headphones won't do more damage to our ears than listening to the HI-FI. However, there is are catches for listening with headphones: we usually tune up the volume. People use their headphone most often on the street or in the shopping malls. These places are of course noisy and thus, to make sure we won't miss out any detail of the music we love, we tune up the volume. Now, it is not that our ears cannot support a higher than usual volume. It is just it cannot handle that for too long which is where the second catch: our music usually lasts longer than a few minutes. Combining the two means that we usually hear to music at higher than usual volume for a longer than normal duration. And this will affect our hearing ability.
