If you are given the chances to be scientist, what do you like to discover?

I would like to go into space travel tech. if I were given the chance. There are quite many things that we kind of have the idea how to get done but inter-galaxy traveling is still something we do not have a clue. I mean Einstein has told us that we cannot travel faster than light which means that if some stars takes years for light to get to, there is just no way human beings can go. It would be great if somehow I can workaround this so we can reach out far into the deep space to explore the galaxies out there.
