buy an iPOD or a generic mp3 player for half the price of an ipod? ipod? gneric?

I prefer you buy an ipod. You are sure of Ipod's quality unlike the generic ones. There was even a news that some generic gadgets explodes when charged! Generic may be cheap but it won't last long.

Why don't you buy a cellphone capable of playing music? I think it's the best you can get from your money. You don't really need an entire day to listen to music right? And i assume you have a computer, so i don't think it will be difficult for you to transfer music. There are lot's of cheap mp3 phones out there like the Nokia 5310. It works basically like a good mp3 player. It's a thin as a conventional mp3 player too.

i would prefer to buy a genuine brand even though it is a used one when it comes to electronics... i just don't want to risk it with a generic brand... you don't know what will happen... another options is to wait a little bit and save up before buying a brand new ipod... so sorry to hear about what is happening to your ipod... good luck... take care and have a nice day...

I'd go for the iPod. Here's why. I have a Creative Zen music player. It's nice. Works well. My daughter has an iPod and just recently bought an iPod Touch. Well right away you notice the differences. The media available for the iPod outweighs what's available for my Zen. It's also much easier for my daughter to put said media on her player than it is for me to put songs on my Zen.

I really wish I would have just saved the money I used on the Zen towards an iPod!

Be careful when buying completely generic players & remember that you get what you pay for.

Normally i don't like to fix my mind only to a big brand just because it is the most used and famous so if i had a problem like yours simply i will watch around me except ipod too!!
I think that when you are searching a tech product you must consider your needs and consequently buy the product who has the good features useful for you and the major use you want buy it!!
I think as Mp3 players there are much and many of these are good,surely ipod is one of these and surely this is a tech product considered cool but i think creative Zen or other products will be good too and so you can consider them too in this way you can really buy the object good for you and your needs!!
