Well tomorrow is the official start of Hurricane Season. I'm in south Florida so we do keep an eye on the weather. Good thing nothing usually happens until later in the summer. But we do worry every year since Hurricane Frances hit a few years ago. I'm only 5-6 miles inland so if we get hit by something bigger than a cat 3 we have to evacuate. If you are in a flood zone do you have a plan? Literally our plan is to move all of our electronics into our laundry room that has no windows and get in the car and drive inland.

How often do hurricanes happen on your area? Were you part in hurricane Katrina? I have yet to experience on where I live(Hawaii).

We get more or less the outskirts of a hurricane. I'm in West Palm Beach. I believe Hurricane Frances was the first hurricane in like 40 years to have a direct hit and then we were hit every year. But yeah Hurricane Katrina went over WPB but when it went over us it was only a category 1, so it wasn't bad for us.

I lived in Houston during Ike. We were in a no evac zone but we were still without power for 9 days. We did have water which was good. Since were were in the northwest side of Harris county we did not get the full force and after seeing the devastation of the areas around Galveston as well as the surrounding counties I would rather not see another one. The planning was pretty good as far as evac. but it could still be better. And like New Orleans the area is still waiting for the feds to finish what they started. Most people who live in the low lying areas try to get out of the way as soon as possible. I was glad we did not have to leave.
