What graphic style of anime you prefer? |
| |
| I know I am asking a weird question. I will try to explain a little bit. The graphic style of anime are shown in how the characters and the background are presented. For example coarse outline. Details graphics. Static background crowd. Funky drawings like patches of color instead of continuous color. Irregular outline. I try to categorised them as below, Simple + coarse (eg.Crayon Shinchan) Simple + cute (eg. Ranma 1/2, Pokemon) Normal (Full Metal Alchemist, Inuyasha, Naruto etc.) Modern (Computer graphics eg. Appleseed) Artistic (Detailed with style. eg. The moving castle of Howl, Princess Mononoke) Fansy (you can see hair as strps eg. La Corda D'Oro, Vampire Knight) Funky (eg. Monoke) For myself, I cannot accept the funky style | | | | | |

| | Computer graphics really add a lot of realistic element to the anime. But funny enough, I still prefer the old style. Btw, what do you mean by anime with random trvia or references to other anime put in there randomly? | | | |

| | Kinda like how in the Final Fantasy VII movie there where images of places in the game and its early stages in Tifa's bar. Sometimes a studio puts in an item that is from another anime or movie or whatever in another anime, like say, the characters go in a book store and they search for something, usually, in cases like these the animation studio puts in some books in the background who are parodies of real world manga or books, or it could be anything. In one of Death Note's openings (can't remember which) for example, there is an image about a glass falling on the floor and breaking, the image is sped up for a reason, because its not really a glass, its an image of Light falling to the floor and...breaking to pieces...yeah...whatever. So what I meant by that is that it doesn't necessarily have to be a comedic or parody anime for there to be stuff such as this, it can be put anywhere, its really fun when you find something from another anime in another, mostly Kyoto Animation does it (and with good reason, just look at their projects) and most times the subbing group doesn't care to sub the title of random manga in the corner of a manga shop found in ust one scene in the episode so you mostly have to depend on luck to find something... | | | |
