Painting on Canvass  

It does work. I tried doing a painting of his years ago. I had one of his books that shows you how to paint with his method in step by step lessons. I had never tried oils before that and my attempt wasn't bad for the first time. I never tried it again because it seemed a little intimidating to me since I've always worked with dry mediums: drawing, pastels, etc. If you want to try the Bob Ross technique then go for it. It does work. You just have to practice.

i haven't painted on canvas with oil paint,but i have painted with oil paints on normal paper.when you work with oil paints what you need is a lot of patience(oil paints takes up to 3 days to dry) and creativity and a free hand.if you have all this,you can create a masterpiece.

Yes , i paint on canvas too ^^ , I've just received today a new canvas ^^ . As for the method...well i have my own method since at school our teacher told us just what we need to paint with oils - what kid of brushes , what kids of substances , what we do before starting to paint the canvas and how we blend our colors on the palette.The rest was up to us ^^ and every one developed his own style ^^ . I find painting with oil very easy and fun , cause you can play more freely with the colors on you canvas and the feeling it's very nice ..as well as the smell of turpentine *laughing*
