your heart as a gift vs. being earned...

"Hearts are not to be had as a gift, hearts are to be earned." That is a quote by W. B. Yeats...Do you agree with it? How does it make you feel? I think hearts are definitely to be earned..you can't take someone's heart and call it yours...it also can't just be "given" to you...You work every day in a relationship, earning the right to that person's love by your actions and words, till one day, you have earned the right to their love...What do you think?
