I have read so many posts and site information things about this new PayPal thing - something about if you have a personal account, you now have to pay fees.. but only if.. and then a list of things in legal mumbo jumbo. Even on PP site.. hard to understand what they are saying Can anyone say... in simple, normal terms.. what the deal is? I have a personal account and have been getting paid from the pTC's. Several of them have stated a 1-2% fee is now charged to me (from them). However. several other don't do that. Then it says upgrade to a business account but I had one of those and was always charged a fee just for receiving money and had to pay the 2.9% and 30cent Trans fee. So... I am confused. Can anyone explain?

OH yeah.. that old credit card trick!!! I don't use credit cards so I don't pay attention to alot of the things that are "attached" to them. That is true... if someone pays you with a credit card you are charged a fee...now I remember that! THanks for reminding me!

You mean they are charging for us to make a withdraw or transfer balance to the attached bank account? Yet, we transfer money to our PP accounts from the bank accounts.. we don't charge PP a fee to put our money in there, but they charge us a fee to take it out? You're kidding!?!? If they keep this up... they are going to lloose alot of customers.... you can do the same thing with any bank card. I was using my PP account to buy from Amazon.com and a few places.. but changed it to my bank debit card... why do the extra to transfer the money to PP. Right now all I use my PP account for is to transfer my weekly allowance to the card so I can use the card to purchase and get 1% cash back. Howver, they have recently changed their site so they don't show the 1% cash back transactions... until the last day of the month and then they do one transaction for ALL the cash backs...makes me wonder if they are secretly not doing a cash back on some transactions and how will the customer know.. who's going to keep a written log of it all to compare at the end of them month.... hum...I don't think I will be doing much more with PP until I hear more about all this.

it's the problem one encounters when using the credit card.better change your account preference and link a debit card. i use debit card instead of credit card.i hope this helps.

Well here is my advice unless you sell online than upgraded to business is really not a need for you. I did that months ago and I could not even tell you how many fees have been taken out. It distrubs me because the little money I make here and there seems littler than it should be due to fees. I know there is a new system and Paypal has created some upgrades as well that to be honest I felt were a need but hey fees seem to be higher than they should be. I hope this helps you coffeebreak and happy mylotting to you as well.

Yeah I am hoping that another system comes out besides Paypal. I find it very secure however the fees are becoming way too much. I also added a debit card feature to my account that can help you with cashback as well so that might help with those fees and get some of your money back. I know there are some clauses involved but it is worth you checking into friend. I hope this helps and happy mylotting to you as well.
