Painful Elows

The skin on my right elbow hurts me off and on every so often and I'm wondering what it could be a sign of.I can't seem to find anything in any of my medical books about this. It does look a little red but other than that, it doesn't look unusual. I have started moisturizing both of my elbows here lately and that seems to help it. The pain feels more like a pin sticking in it. Have any of youall ever experienced pain in your elbows like this? Usually if your skin is dry, it will itch rather than feel like somebody is sticking you with a pin. A few years ago, I had fluid on that elbow. I don't remember how it was I drained it out. Kathy.

Hey Kathy! I think that you should continue using some nice skin moisturizer. If that doesn't help then I would suggest that you go to the doctor to see what might be the cause of the pain. I can't tell you what it could be since I am not a doctor or qualified to say what it is. But, if your description is as you descripe and it feels like someone is sticking you with a pin then it sounds like it is some sort of circulation problem and that is definitely something that a doctor would have to be consulted on! I have had that same sensation on and off and it just went away on it's own.

Hey Leslie! It's been long time not hear! Good to hear from you again! I'm sure you stay busy with other things, though. Thank you for your response. I have a sensitive skin, anyway, and I've had problems with ecxema a lot in the past. To tell you the truth, I can't tell by looking at it that there is anything wrong. It does look somewhat red at times. About the only way I can look at it is in a mirror. When I went to the rheumatologist a week or two ago, the nurse practitioner noticed my elbow and told her that it did hurt at times. This doesn't have anything to do with arthritis, though. This is a skin problem. Like I said, any kind of moisturizer seems to help. I'm glad to know that your problem went away on it's own. Maybe mine will, too. Happy mylotting. Kathy.

Hey, Kathy, I am going to guess that you use the computer a lot and have pinched or damaged a nerve there. Look up neuropathy in your books and see if that sounds right. Of course I am one to talk. The top of one of my feet has itched off and on for months. I cannot figure that one out.

Hey GardenGerty! Thank you for your response. This problem started before I got my computer. It just seems to have gotten worse, though. I know about neuropathy because my oldest sister has that. She has some kind of problems with her feet because of it. I have read about neuropathy but I have forgotten what it is exactly. I'll have to go back and read about it again. Kathy.
