Hello myLot,
I was with a friend yesterday and we booted up his laptop. He was showing me different televisions websites that offer free viewing on regular programs like House and Lie to Me. Do any of you at myLot watch TV on your computer? Do you like it better than regular TV?
There aren't many programs that I like, I mainly like to see golf, tennis, baseball and maybe soccer. Do you think internet TV would work for what I'm looking to do? I'm very new at this and am debating as to whether to get cable or not. Thank you for your thoughts.

I don't really watch streaming television, but I do watch shows on the internet that are streamed. Well now I just download them to watch for later.
I live in New Zealand, which means many of the shows we get are 2 - 3 weeks or months behind other countries. Being able to watch or download those shows is better for me since I can now watch them whenever I want.
It's probably the main reason why I don't watch much television, since I have that at my fingertips. Other than the local news and local sports, my television set is hardly ever used.
The internet is a good place to "catch up" on television programs and some of the major studios will "telecast" programs, but it doesn't really compare to having something like cable television.
Because the difference is that the internet has "lag" and usually any program that appears on the internet is already outdated.

Thank you for your input Jimeous. I appreciate the information that you shared. I am leaning toward cable. The idea of doing so much on my computer sounded like fun at first but the more I thought about it the more I realized that cable was the way to go. So that's what I'm planning. Thank you again.

I've always been a little leary about doing too much of anything on the computer especially if it's something that may cause the computer to freeze up or get a virus.
When you mention health, are you talking about looking at the screen too long so that it would affect my eyes?
Thanks for your reply.
