i love my grandma.. Don't take loved ones for granted!  | |  i love my Grandma and i miss her, i wanted to write a testimonial about her as a tribute. my grandparents(mom's parents) only raised me up. i spend most of the time with them. especially my grandma. my parents worked and when they come back they fight for some reason. if it wasnt my grandmother's love.. i would have gone mad. she was an embodiment of love, very delicate,innocent and kind hearted. she worried a lot about me and my family.. she took all the efforts to make me happy. she would attend all prayer meetings and pray for me and my family and sacrificed a lot(LOT) for me and my family. but i was stupid i took her for granted. my attitude changed in my teenage when i met my boyfriend,i spent a lot of time with him, but in return he didnt love me the way i did. for 2 years i spend most of my time in depression because of this so called relationship. my grandma was worried about me. one morning i realized that no one can love and care for me better than my grandma and then i decided to spend time with my grandma and make her happy.. but it was not more than 1/2 hour from the time i made that decision, she passed away. a tenant who stayed in my house abused my grandma disrespectfully, it affected her so badly and while she was fighting back, she fell down and we rushed her to the hospital where the doctors said she was dead. that was the most devastating painful incident in my life. i didnt expect this on the day i decided to be with her. she wanted to see me graduating from college, my wedding etc. i was so blessed to have a grandma like her but she deserved a better granddaughter, unlike me. im in tears now. (i miss you grandma(patti))please dont take your loved ones for granted.. especially if it is your grandparents. Dont make the same mistake i did. please discuss with me if you had taken your loved ones for granted..

| | | 2. book1962 (14554) | 7 months ago |  thats really sad.... I have also lived with my grandma in one house from the time I was 4 to the time I was 25 (minus three years I was studying to be a librarian in a different city but came to see her once a month).
It was a lovely time with her. Like your Grandma, mine has given me unconditional love and support, she has cooked or baked special treats for me, she has listened to what happened in school that day, she prayed for me countless times when I had exams coming up.
She took me to church at an early age already and I loved going with her.
She has taught me never to quit when things dont work out as they were planned but to try, try and try again.
I had my Grandma for a few years longer than you did but still when I was 25 I felt that it was much too early to lose her. now over 20 years later I still miss her the same way.

| | | 3. sanwhy (73) | 6 months ago |  i totally agree with you in evergthing we must give thanks so whenever you have sweet grandparents please do the best you can for them. they are only trying to assists you in preventing a possible similiar mistakes as they did . remember that they have been through it already therefore what we the younger generations think that they are only trying to ruin our lives and they should allow us to make our mistakes . but,
the time will come when we all will say "if i had only known" that this would be the out come then we truly understand that what they tried to tell us, was indeed to warn us. in most cases it is often too late.

I am so sorry to hear about that,Sometimes the god like joke with us.When we finally realize someone is really means to us.They suddenly gone.it was a really sad stroy.you know what?your grandmother will sense that your love her in the god.
she will get serene.Your story give me a good advice,Never thought your grandparent give to you,it's your deserved.You should be with them and love them for return this. we all need to do this.

well me, i love my grandma very much! although i didn't grow with her i still love her so much. she works abroad to help her children even if they already have their own families. she's the one who bring me to school and provides everything i need...well i am her first grandchild and people say that i am her favorite.
its just sad that she already died some 4 years ago...i wish she lived longer so that i can serve her more...she died of cancer and its not easy for her. i saw how she suffers and it hurts me more...but on the last few months of her life we show her how much we love her and never in my life that i take her for granted...every time she goes home from abroad, i see to it that she will be happy and i am always with her, even if sometimes my father gets mad(he gets mad at me because i didn't go to our church, instead i accompany my grandma going to her church...we have different religion.) i still go with my grandma because i know that will make her happy.
i do what she wants, i gave her my college diploma...that's her only wish. before i get married i ask for her blessing and permission...
i love her so much and miss her too. you are right we should not take for granted people we love...life is too short!

| andresimp (336) | 6 months ago | thats sad! i totally understand how you would feel. its so painful to see them sick. you were lucky to serve your grandma and also show your diploma. i didnt have that opportunity she died when i was in my 2nd year college. i didnt get the opportunity to serve her casue she was very much active and doing household chores before her death. it all happened in the wink of the eyes which is very shocking. i served my grandpa who was sick. he died before my grandma. so i m happy that i could serve him. i miss my grandparents. i wish they both lived longer.. | |

you know i think the best thing that you can do now is to continue on pursuing on what your grandma wants for you...finish your school and even she's not here anymore you still have your parents and i think you can serve your grandma through your parents...
