How do you deal with 'unpleasant' people on social networks?

Recently, I've had a bad experience with someone on the social network I belong to. I have reported him to the administrator. I recieved a respone of 'not enough proof' after describing his unpleasantness. I am constantly reminded of his dislike of me by others on the site. And he has many 'friends' and a big following as he has a radio show on the site, who 'follow' me to other sites and leave nasty comments. What should I do?

Usually, I ignore them. I try to say positive comments as much as I can, I keep quiet when I want to protest. (Hey, it's not being fake, it's just keeping quiet). But I'll share something. There was a time when a computer genius made an account in Multiply, and he used a web crawler. A web crawler is something that makes his account visit all other accounts in that host, so whenever I (or my friends) logged in, we could see that he visited us. Everybody was really annoyed, so I reported him to the administrators. Immediately his account got deleted. He made a few other accounts and applied that web crawler, but I reported all of them, so he eventually stopped.
If you're getting nasty comments, make a totally new account with a pseudonym. Create a whole new email for yourself too. Might help.

I understand about keeping quiet and trying to stay positive. But I am not into pseudonyms. I had quit the site for about a week. Started an account with my ex husband's info...(with his permission) It just felt like lying. I was able to talk to my friends who knew it was me. But when others contacted me for friendship, I felt like I was being phoney. So, I just started all over again as myself. It is a paying site (YUWIE) and it is against the TOS to have more than one account.
I have been ignoring the rumors he's started...but 'aquaintences' of both of ours are trying to keep the BS going.
Oh well...such is life, I guess. It is a shame that humans do these sort of things to one another.

I will continue to report the idiot wherever I see that he is flaming people. If he comes to my blog and flames me, I will block him. Unfortunately, as long as he doesn't do anything illegal (like a certain other idiot we've talked about), what else can you do?

Yes, like I said....he knows what he can and can't get away with. What is troubling me is that his opinion of me is spreading to others. Not so much that I am loosing sleep, mind you. :) But I do not want those who have not had a chance to really know me be turned off from even trying to be friends.
I guess like you've heard me say before....I HATE injustice! And this is a prime example...when he is allowed and even rewarded (sort of) for his narcisisstic behavior.

Well, I have held my tongue the best I can. lol I saw it was only making it worse. The major thing we need to be concerned with is the administrator's lack of concern with this problem. It is ruining an otherwise great site. And I think greed has a lot to do with it. He brings in a lot of page views...and is allowed certain lee way because of it.

People like him has no right to treat you like that.
He is a man for God's sake and he is acting like a
small child. Why he is doing it to you?

I have pointed out to him privately that he is rude to others and asked him why? That is what started it. He was on my friends list at one time....and he posted a public notice calling women freaks and I took exception to it..but did so privately.
