If you have or do, then which short story was your favorite? You don't need to know the title of it or anything, just maybe give a short description of it......mine was one that was made into a movie but the movie butchered it into crap,,,,"The Mist" was actually a wonderful short story that had a fog come over a town and when a father and son go to a grocery store during the mist, these "creatures" emerge and so the store is trapped inside, it is a "disaster" type of story but its so original and suspenseful, I was glued and read the whole story in one night....so what is your favorite Stephen King short story?

I loved "The Mist", too. I was actually so excited to see that movie just because I was curious about how they would have adapted it from the short story. It was one of his best works. Another favorite of mine is "Everything's Eventual" from the book of the same name.

Oooh, I completely forgot about Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. Also a fantastic story.

My favorite was the one about the teacher who was taken over by some being maybe an alien that taught her how to heal her body and live forever. She was able to rid herself of the entity and then the story seemed to indicate because she was a teacher she could teach this internal healing to all the people she knew. Was in his first collection of short stories I think.

I'm not so fond of Stephen King's horror stories, but I happen to read his Shawshank Redemption. It's not a horror story, but it's really a good book, inspiring and the kind that proves that indeed there is a light at the end of a tunnel.
