How do deal with people who never say 'Thank You'

My father looks up to me whenever there's a PC problem. Most of the time he only notice the things unaccomplished rather than those major fixes I did. He won't stop reminding me until all his applications are running smooth. When I have done all the fixes, he just say 'Ah ok'. It just bug me because next time he will have a problem, he won't appreciate my work again. I don't know, do parents say thank you to their children?

My parents actually are very grateful. They've also thought us to be too.
A small, or great thing it be, they notice and make an effort to let us know that our good deeds are properly appreciated.

I guess maybe you could hint it. How about joking your father on what the payment is for your work? ;-p
And be so proud of your work, too!
Maybe he'll react..
