Difficult Decision

Hi, mylotters! Ever since you become a member here, what is the thing you find most difficult to do in mylot? For me the most difficult part is giving out "the best response" in my discussion, since most of the time , every one responded with equally great answer and to my satisfaction, but i only have one title to give out among many responses, making it hard to figure out the best one among all equally good one whenever i am ready to do so.

I almost always have trouble giving out best responses, which is why I have so many "unresolved discussions". Sometimes, there really isn't a "best" response; there are so many good, but differing, responses. Then, there are some whose response is almost identical to other responses. Now, how could we possibly be able to give out a best response when more than one person says something extremely similar and what they're all saying would be the best response? Personally, I'd like to see the best response thingie done away with.

I've not awarded it on many of mine because they keep getting responses... and they keep getting better too

That's when I stopped giving BRs right away. I did that once, then, minutes later, the REAL best response came in! So, I may get around to going through them one of these days but it's almost inevitable that the real best response will come in after a BR is chosen.

I usually give it out after several weeks , so most of the time , no new response coming in after i gave the title out . I just hope every responder to my discussion not feel offended when he or she is not chosen for the BR title especially when there are so many good one to select from, sigh! Thank for the response!

I just started on here so I really haven't had anything difficult to worry about. I do struggle not to comment on every comment that's made in a discussion. I don't know if anyone, especially the person who started the discussion, would find it rude. Hope not.

I don't see why anyone would think it rude, rdadey, unless what you type is rude and, from what I've seen, I find that highly unlikely. Whenever anyone posts anything, whether it's a discussion or a comment, whatever comments are left under them earn them money, so I don't see why anyone would complain or think it rude! The longer a conversation is kept going, the more money is made. I've done it many times myself, although, if it's a comment from someone I don't really know, I always say something like "Pardon my butting in...." No one has ever minded me doing that. So, go right ahead! (I HAD to butt in here, just to prove my point. LOL)

Pardon my butting in.... Ilove butting in and those that know me know also that I do it. If Ido it in the right places then the user where I butted in comes abck and comments (and earns) and everyone is happy It's not rude rdadey and feel free to butt in where ever you see me ... please excuse the intrusion...

That's what I meant by being rude, I didn't know if it would be considered butting in or hijacking as it's referred to elsewhere. I guess the important thing is to keep the discussion going and also make sure what you write relates to the discussion. Thanks for the help.

Now that I come to think of it, I guess its the same for me...giving the 'best response'...I am so undecided on whom to give the 'best response' that in most cases, I dont mark it at all!

The hardest part for me is staying off all those repeated discussions I would so like to go and point out that the topics have already been discussed and that they will be deleted and that when that happens they should not complain about myLot be bad and it all being so unfair and the like. It is so obvious that some discussions are repeats that it is not a case of myLot being bad but of users wasting their time What is the point of going and responding on the same topic over and over again when we all know by now that they will go? But I keep quiet as I am fed up with losing points for ttying to help those who do not want to know

Too many repeat discussion that i just lost count how many of them in mylot, normally i just ignore them after responding to the same for a while, as i stay longer in Mylot, i learn that it is wasting too much time doing that. Exactly, it's not mylot fault, but member own making by repeating the same topic here. Thank for the response, n cheer!

The most difficult decision for me is to find ideas to start a discussion. You see, i like unique topic, which no one had ever taught about it. Something that very interesting to get a lot of responses. It is fun to comment if the discussion are interesting. I am sure you feel the same way too. Commenting is not a problem, finding an interesting topic worth for your respond is somewhat hard. Because I saw a lot of similar topics here.

hi there, mylot is a very fun and exciting place to be in. posting and rating post is really a interesting to do. Anyway as for me, i do find it diffuclt to actually find for post to actually reply to. I guess i actually spend more time finding for post to reply to rather then the time taken to actually reply to a post. I usually find for post where i can write a good substantial amount in quality. well therefore that is the reason why i guess i actually take sometime to actually find for a post where i can reply to. well i do find it difficult at times to post a discussion. well i feel that to be a good mylot contributer one should not only reply to post with quality but should also be able to post quality discussions for other mylotters to actually respond to. Anyway have a nice day ahead, and happy mylotting. best regards, alvingb

The most difficult thing for me to do is to comment back at the responses that I receive. With having a life outside of mylot and a slow Internet connection it can take me some time to comment on any of the responses that I receive. Plus I tend to get caught up in responding to other peoples discussions, especially when something catches my eye and I want to respond right then...though sometimes I do save it for a later date. Happy mylotting!

Comment to responses can be time consuming if you have too many responses, so far i haven't encountered that, and i am lucky it is not hard for me to comment back to those responses in my discussion. Thank for your response, happy mylotting to you too.

I have to say I agree there, it can be hard when there are so many great responses to narrow them down to just one. Many people ha ve a lot of great ideas and I love to hear others opinions on views that I have or advice from others.

Trying to find the best among so many good one is quite time consuming, i normally reread every response over several times before i award BR , mylot members have many great ideas and inputs most of the time, i got to find that out every time i started a new discussion. It is really a great site for discussion .. Thank for responding, happy mylotting to you.

i agree with you on that my friend. its not easy to choose the best response specially when the discussion is about simple things and then the response are very good that sometimes you didnt expect it. there are a lot of creative people at mylot that can use words so properly that you will enjoy reading their responses, so its really hard to pick one.

The only time i find it easy is when i only got one response in my discussion. I too often received equally good and quality responses from my friends and non friends, that is making my task harder . Thank for the response, my friend. Happy mylotting to you.

Well the most difficult thing for me is consistently trying to think of a new and fresh subjects to post, becuse it seems like everything has already been posted, and the other thing is trying to stay neutral and avoiding subjects that create drama, I find it a bit difficult becuse a lot of the more deep subjects tend to be a bit more interesting, but they are also, more troublesome, and another thing thats sometimes hard to do is remember all the rules in mylot, but aside from a few occasional dilemmas mylot is a fun place.

I agree it is hard for me to come out with new and fresh topic once . It will be harder to do that consistently, an impossible task for me frankly speaking. Remembering all rules in Mylot is going to take a lot of efforts on my part if in the first place i can manage to remember all of them , haha... Thank for the response. n happy mylotting to you!

I think giving the best response is hard for me too. What makes it so hard, is that all the responses are so good, that I just wish I could give them all a best response, but since we can only give out one, I just read and reread the responses to come to a decision. Another thing I find difficult at times, is finda a discussion to post to, that hasn't been discussed before. There are so many discussions that have been discussed so much, that there really isn't all that much left to say about them. I try to avoid those discussions, however, I will help a new person if they ask for it. All, in all, it is just a great place to be. Well, good luck to you and happy mylotting.

Exactly, rosekiss! several time i had to read over to find the best one, thinking may be if i had the option of creating a few more BR titles, then i probably will do it, too many times i got equally good responses from members around here, causing me a big headache trying to choose the best one in every discussion i started. Thank for your response, n happy mylotting to you!

lamp . . being new here I would say that navigating around is the first difficulty one encounters. . . and then once you do trying to understand all the stars and the numbers next to one's name make for some confusion . . so with that said now that I am not so "new" around here one of the most important things to do is to find and make friends that you not only like to talk to and see what they are interested in but friends that help you understand the rules and regulations! I have gotten a few "Best Responses" and was flattered but really did not understand why I was getting them .. but this post of yours cleared that one up for me and so I have been on a mission to go back and look at my past posts and give some of those out. I kinda like (but dont I always) what mydiana has said. .. sometimes it is good not to give "best responses" out, cause great responses keep coming! Geez I love this place! happy MyLotting

Don't worry, you get to learn something new every day you are in Mylot..not mentioning some great members are always here to help newbie like you out, it is nice to see newbies having a great time in mylot and enjoying the hospitality of mylot oldies. Thank for your response n cheer!
