How often do you defrost your freezer?

Me and my daughter has just spent the last hour or so defrosting our freezer although I have to admit my daughter has done most of it as I was busy cooking dinner.
I finally gave in and decided it needed doing after finding that I could not pull the drawers out as they were iced in.
As I write this she is still at it now but she made it into a game and was putting ice down her younger brother's backs which they found funny but they got their own back by doing the same to her. At least it made it more enjoyable for them.
This is the first time I have defrosted the freezer since we were given it last year it desperately needed it.
It is one job that I do not enjoy doing and tend to avoid it until it gets really bad.
How often do you defrost your freezer?
Is it a task you enjoy or do you dread it?

Before, I always see my mom defrost our freezer every Saturday. Well its a bit messy because whenever I walk in front of the refrigerator, there are lots of rags around it. All the doors are open, so we usually stay in front of it because it cool there, like staying in an airconditioned room. But after we got these no frost refrigerator, I only see my mom clean it on in a while or everytime something fell inside which messed it up. It's good for my mom but quite bad for us because my siblings and I really missed the staying in front of the refrigerator while the ice melting in front of our faces.

Good way to cool down. I think that I will probably go for a frost free one next time.

The last time was last week. That was after months of not doing it. Since the freezer can't fit anything inside anymore and the ice already mounted the corners, I have no choice but to defrost it. I don't divide the task as I prefer to do it alone. It's not hard anyway, I only need to throw the water resulted from the melted ice and then clean the freezer when all ice is gone. Then, I can clean the lower compartments (if I feel like it...)

My daughter done it off her own back she offered to do it when I said that I was going to do it so I was not going to turn her down.

It will defrost if there is no meat on the freezer, i defrost it once a week, and never often unless we put some pork on it.
