how do you train a new puppy?

I found that small pieces of leftover beef worked the best for training, as a reward for obeying. It really takes a lot of patience to train a dog. It's like kids, consistancy and just one thing at a time! Some breeds seem easier to train also. Like Golden Retrievers were very easy for me and my pit bulls were too. My smaller dogs I have had seemed harder to train, like my maltese and my mom's yorkies.

I don't know if you have ever watched that show, but it does have great techniques on how to train your dog in various ways. The best thing to do is praise your dog everytime it obeys you. Make sure you carry dog treats at all times. One of the best dog treats is a brand called "Pupperoni" which they sale in most Pet Stores such as PetSmart, Petco and Walmart. The more you train them, the more you praise them, the more they will obey. If they do something wrong you should punish them with no treat, but be very gentle with them. Male dogs aren't hard to train. Female dogs though are a bit feisty, but are trainable once you get used to them.
