Think of the different ways of surfing the internet, webpages use HTTP protocol, which can be translated with many devices. Mobile Phones, Gaming Machines, Computers etc.. VOIP is an Internet Protocol which transmits your voice into packets that can be sent via the Internet. This requires hardware or software which makes the conversion of your voice and reconversion so you can be heard. An Internet Phone is hardware which is designed specifically to use VOIP.

Practically these both are a same thing. The difference only on the implementation. Internet phone and voip using a same technology. Nowadays, since the voip booming, most of the mobile phone operator promoto their cheaper international calling code. They can offering cheaper price because they are using voip technology. But don't expecting much for the voice quality. Have a nice day and happy mylotting.

I am pretty sure that they are the same thing. VOIP or voice over internet protocol, is just using your internet to make phone calls. You connect the phone to your computer and use that instead of straight into the phone line. Usually the calls are cheaper, like you pay for a local call instead of STD or international because of the way that the data travels. Some people have said that unless you have a really fast internet connection, the sound quality can be a little bit poor.
