Would a car run more effectively if it had 5 wheels or 3?

While we are on the subject of cars.....someone told me the mirror on the windscreen was not for checking your hair but was for seeing traffic out the rear window...WTF?

It could be, but it would probably be harder to maneuver.I don't know if I would be too excited about driving a car with 3 wheels.....and yea a "rear view mirror" lol.
