What is your opinion?

Well,everything has good side or bad side.I think student should have mobiles,cause it's useful for students communicating with each oher.But I think mobiles should be forbidden use when in class.

Here in colleges we are allowed to bring mobile phones but we are expected to do not use it in classrooms which I agree. When we are in class we are learning something else so I do not tink using mobile in college should be banned if the students know and are concious of the college's rules which says that mobile is not allowed in classroom.

Dear friend, I am so surprised about this!! In many countries, even primiry students have mobiles, I don't know why you college students are not allowed.It's a really good tool for people, I can't imagine what my life will be without a mobile.

I totally agree with you. I think that your college authorities are treating you like small kids. Although I agree that there should be some limitations for the use of mobiles in college, like no use in class and library, you still have the right to hold a mobile. After all it's one of the easiest means of communication in today's world.

I think mobile should be banned, because now a days mobile has become the main center of attention for everyone. So, if the mobile rings in the class, then the whole class will be disturbed and even the lecturer can't concentrate properly in his/her lecture. Moreover, if we keep in silent in our bag, then there is no harm.

We can always call back/message if we miss out any important call after the class.
And if someone is really serious about the studies then nothing else is more important for him than studies.

We should consider that cellphones should be allowed inside the classroom in such a way that there are times that it should be prohibited. Like for example, on the teacher or instructor's side - it is an insult if one of his students is using the phone for games or text messaging that. It can also be a source of cheating or leakage. There are always exception to every rules like phones should only be used during breaks or free time and most of all for any emergencies.

First of all,I think rule is unfair.
In a certain extent,I even think it's even a unwise way to prevent student from using mobiles.Besides,colleges are not those young kids who would listen to the authority exactly.Colleges students all have senses of judgement,they tell good from bad.Of course,there are guys who misuse mobiles.But I think those guys are just the minority in college students.So the authority would better to take some active measures to prevent students from misusing mobiles,but not forbid to use them.

i don't see how you can ban them, and there's nothing wrong with using a mobile outside class or for emergencies. if a phone goes off in a class though it is really disruptive, and texting throughout a lesson is just rude. i think the rule should simply be to have phones on silent and don't use during a class

In my the use of mobile was only restricted in the classroom. The motive was to avoid distraction during classroom sessions. But outside the classroom the we were allowed to use the mobile. Misuse of technology cannot be stoped by banning it particular area.

I think we,college studnets, should be given more alternatives.As we have more connectons with outter society, we need mobiles to be in contact with others.Besides, it really gives convenience to users, even teachers now use mobiles to contact us.All in all, Indian colleges regulate too much.
