 How does God/Jesus effect your everyday living? Do you put Him first? Do you start your day in prayer? or is God something you do once in awhile? I try to put Jesus first in my daily life...not always successful but thank God for MERCY!! I am a born again Christian and have very deep faith. The infilling of the Holy Ghost is an awsome experience that I would not give up for anything/anyone! I was raised a catholic and converted when I began to read the Bible on my own...Something as serious as Eternal Life/Death should not be left to someone else telling you what to do or not to do...So I picked up my BIBLE and started to read it for myself....boy, was I missing out on a lot!!!!! Acts 2:38 is a good start....God Bless you all!!!!!!!!!!

1.  PeacefulWmn9 (2495) | 6 months ago |  Prayer is a daily thing for me. I pray here and there as I go through my work or relaxation. And faith is also always present and right with me in every situation, joyful or sad. I did as you are doing, because I heard so many conflicting teachings supposedly coming from the same book...the Bible. So I decided to read it for myself, cover to cover. I have concluded that many people put things in or leave things out to suit their personal wishes, not what the Bible truly teaches.

They think such a person would do or say nothing that went against God's own teachings, but that is not always the case. They are people, just as we are.:)

2.  Beertjie (726) | 6 months ago |  May you be blessed for your open confession. God is my life. I try to die daily in myself and let Him live in me. I also fail, but as you said, thanks for His mercy. Rightiousness is a growing thing, and as long as we change daily for the better, being led by the Spirit, then we are making progress on this Pilgrims Journey to eternaty.
I love Jesus with my everything.

| 3. mythman (1113) | 6 months ago | I don't know what your 'status' is (celibate-to all but your spouse, -to all but your dating-partner, -to all, -to none), but I can guess. Catholicism (like most "traditional" religions) is a family-religion---whatever its spiritual tenets, its goal is 'to continue its follower's family-lines.'
'The family lineage' (ancestry, family tree) is the foundation/frame of each congregation's understanding---the fathers/mothers leading the children, lifting them up and lighting their way.
'Honor thy parents'---a 'commandment' that is not of divine root, but is a natural need (one's parents naturally want one to excel in honor of their family-name, as one will likewise wish when one has children of their own).
As my Earthly father was sort of askew to the family-plan, I could not join him when I was 'of age.' (And my mother ... well, her plan was/is 'just be good'---paying no attention to how much better God wants us to be ...)
To see that, Buddhism was required (Korean Sanskrit, Nichiren Buddhism - 'waking to the light' even though the Nichiren-part was just added because that was the name of the Buddhist monk who 'discovered' it, like Lutheranism for Martin Luther.)
Don't get me wrong; I'm still Christian (Jesus Christ was my favorite 'Buddha'---which literally means 'fully-awakened one'), but I don't necessarily accept fellow Christians' interpretations at first sight/sound.
For example, Acts 2:38 is not a good start; the good start you're looking for is either Acts 2:36 or John 1:1. (See, Acts 2:38 just tells what people should once they find the right Spirit. But you have to have the Gospel fresh on your mind or you'll pick the wrong spirit!) | |

NOT catholic....was raised in that and saw all the lies that they teach along with traditionalism....Pentecostal...I know....what a change, but, a change for the better....I know it has changed my life of drugs and promiscuity to one of not having to remember lies,look over my shoulder or hide from the police....God is good!!! I chose not to follow the traditions of my family and being told by someone what to believe...I picked up the Bible for myself and have read it many times.. One must believe in God, then go to acts 2:38 It is NOT just enough to believe but one must also OBEY the Word of God..Have a nice day!!! | |

| 4. lingli_78 (10194) | 6 months ago |  i always start to put Him first on top of everything that i am doing... i think it is very important as He is our Lord and Saviour and there is nothing that we can do without Him... i always need His strength, guidance and blessings everyday to get through each day... i won't be able to walk on my own through this 'scary' world... and He is definitely a merciful God and His Holy Spirit stays in my heart to always remind me if i do something wrong... take care and have a nice day...

These days, I don't consider myself to be a religious person and I'm much happier. God and Jesus are things I prefer not to even think about. I don't even want to hear about them. I don't pray or anything like that and that's just how I like it.

I'm a catholic person but wouldn't really consider myself prayerful because compared to other people I don't pray as much. However thanks for His Mercy. And also the idea of everlasting life is fantastic and you just have to do His will to experience that everlasting life. All in all God/Jesus is everything and they come first in everything in this world in my opinion, and even though I may forget to do that sometimes I make sure I ask for his forgiveness and try my best to prevent it from happening again. | |

I do put God first in everyday as much as I can if I make some mistake I know if I repent seriously and really want to change God will forgive my mistake and start like knew.I was converted 23 years ago and received God's spirit and tanks God to have granted me some of His power. And through everyday of my life wants and let God's Spirit leading my life.Have Faith and keep hanging there.
