A few months back, I have purchased my first flat by drawing a loan from the banks which is on a 30 years term. It seems to me that the housing price has dropped so much that even if can go lower, the amount won't be that much. Considering I still have a relatively stable job, buying a flat when the price is low and the interest rate is low seem a good idea.

| | 2. phyrre (713) | 7 months ago | Hubby and I currently are renting a really cheap apartment and we have been for a while. We like the place, despite it's many issues, so we plan on probably staying there for a while and saving for a home.
This has been the cause of many discussions between us, though. We moved away from our family so that I could go to the college I wanted to go to and so that we could be closer to my grandparents, who live in a different state by themselves. Hubby doesn't want to get a house down here, though, he wants to get one back at home with the family, but I don't want to get a house at home until my grandparents are dead (as horrible as that sounds, but I don't want to leave them alone down here and I love being able to spend time with them).
So I don't know what our plans are. My grandparents want to leave us their house, but I told them that we wouldn't use it, but they seem to want to leave it to us anyway so that we can just sell it and get whatever house we want. I don't know if they will or not, but I kind of hope they don't and just take out a reverse mortgage on it because they could use the money to enjoy themselves a bit more!

| | 3. maximax8 (10601) | 6 months ago | I live in my own house. It has a kitchen, hall and lounge downstairs. Upstairs it has a two bedrooms, a bathroom and a shower room. It has a front garden and a back garden with a shed. It is situated in a quiet position on the edge of a coastal town. It has views at the back of the countryside. There is a river side path that is lovely for walking my dogs along. I have two car parking spaces. My house is no longer big enough for my family. My son is disabled and can't walk. It is a struggle to get him upstairs. It would be ideal if I could move to a bungalow. My son needs to have a downstairs bedroom and bathroom.
