Well, it would appear that Queen Oprah has been toppled from her pedestal as the top earner for the year by none other than Angelina Jolie! I read a small part of the list and found a few surprises there, notably Bruce Springsteen. I think he came in at around 7 or 8. Madonna was also a surprise as she came in #3, just behind Oprah. I found it interesting that both Angelina and Brad Pitt made the cut. I guess they're super-rich.Others who made the list include Will Smith, David Letterman, Kobe Bryant, Steven Spielberg, and Britney Spears, if you're interested. I know that many people don't care at all about such statistics, but I find them interesting. Do you see any surprises here?

i think that pacquaio is not in this list. he is in the list of highest paid athlete in the world and not of celebrities. he is on the top 6.

Only one surprise. Britney. She has been out of business/commission hasn't she for quite a while. Will Smith doesn't surprise me. His wife is producing her new show so they should have plenty of dough. Madonna is into other things and probably still getting reciguals on her music as well. I am always interested in the filthy rich. I would like to live for a month like they do. Just to know what it is like.

I was also surprised to see Oprah knocked from the #1 spot and when I stop to think about it it IS surprising to see Angelina as #1 and Brad also making the cut. I mean, I know they're among the top stars in Hollywood and they're among the top paid per movie but it seems that there are other actors who also command top dollar who have been busier recently. I'm also a little bit surprised to see Letterman on the list and also Britney Spears, given her troubles in recent years. I knew they were rich but I guess I just thought there were other who earned more than them. Annie

Yes, anniepa, there were quite a few surprises on that list. I can't even imagine how it must feel to be so rich as to make it onto that list.

I never though Queen Oprah would be beaten. It´s so powerful that character...... Well, Angelina Jolie has worked in many succesful films lately, "changeling" one of the more talented films, I have seen in a while, directed by Clint Eastwood, very well directed, it keeps you in the chair that film. In Other films acted by Angelina, there wasn´t so much talent involved, but there were in the top box offices, so I think maybe they earn a percentage of the views of the film in theaters. I know some actors have made that. And what to say about Brad Pitt, which his last film has had so great success "the strange case of benjamin button", amazing film also, although I liked "Changeling" much more.

I thoroughly enjoyed both of those films, vetiver, and am a long-time fan of both Angelina and Brad. To cap it all they are doing some good works with all of that money, and that is okay in my book!

I entered your heading in my search engine and I got nothing like what you have there...I was so disappointed. I changed tack to look at homes of the rich and still no luck...the first result was for an e-book for sale about the homes of the rich. How sad that curiosity is now saleable.

Trivia is always very interesting and I would indulge in them if I had the time or even a small respite from the hectic business of trying to keep body and soul together. I am so poor that all I think about is where to go to find my next meal. Cheers!!

I don't understand what you mean by that, underdogtoo, but I am never too busy to keep tabs on what is going on in the world, and the wealthiest people arenoteworthy! I'm glad you found the time to respond to my discussion.
