my name is maximus decimus meridias. I had to actually copy and paste that name into the response lol. Joaquin was freakin great in that movie! I was on like the edge of my seat when I saw him come out to fight at the end.

but maximus was maximus.. the role he was given suited him perfectly.. and his body and expressions.. passion ad anger.. perfect role.. hes scenes with of killing the sodiers with his hand ties and his fight with those tigers really showed his hardwork.. he had given the scenes perfectly and tempted us to think him as a real warrior..

I agree, a truly great performance by Joaquin Phoenix as Commodus. I'd dare to say even better than the one he did of Johnny Cash. He's sort of an underrated actor, maybe it's because of the name that he carries...
